I agree with you. I guess my concern is that, coming from the southern United States, where monuments to the confederacy are revered as sacrosanct, that the AFD could repeat that tact here as well.

I understand the monument being erected. What I don’t understand is that after 80 years of Erinnerungskultur that a monument honoring the „heroes that served“ the years 1939-1945 would’ve been adjusted or removed by now.

I see how for you and most people, it can be depressing. I think my brain is just broken from hurricanes and trying to hide in bathtubs during tornadoes, now not having to face that. The weather here is oddly one thing I can’t seem to bring myself to complain about.

Moved here from New Orleans, US last year and I’m also actually enjoying this weather instead of 40 degrees daily. I may grow tired of this eventually, but I doubt any time soon.
