The front cover to IS TED OK? issue 1, published by MAD CAVE STUDIOS, due out Feb 25. Written, drawn, colored, lettered by me. Final order cutoff for comic shops is Feb 2, also known as Monday.

Pages 2 and 3 of IS TED OK. Sarah's job is to covertly spy on Ted to make sure he doesn't become homicidal or suicidal at his high-pressure job, and his strange behavior is intriguing. Sarah's narration is some kind of correspondence with someone in her life.

IS TED OK? issue 1 pages 4 and 5. Ted draws a small picture of three weird figures and opens his drawer to reveal that he's drawn this over and over and over again. Sarah's narration tells its recipient that Ted's antisocial behavior reminds her of them. On the facing page, Ted leaves work as a loudspeaker commands employees to leave each other alone, to let each other decompress. Ted walks down the street with his company's building looming in the background. Strange vehicles fly through the air. Ted finally speaks after being aggressively silent thus far, and he's speaking to a stray orange cat he calls "Jonny."

And, listen, it's hard to sell an indie comic to readers because it's hard to get a shop to bite on something that isn't Marvel/DC/Image. Sometimes the only way to get a shop to order this kind of book AT ALL is for one person to add it to their pull list. So please take the time to hit up your LCS.

The only recurring Rumble bit I miss was Kofi's obstacle course getting back to the ring. But even then you can't do it every year.

Some new faces in my follows, so time for an intro post! My name is Ben Kahn, I'm a comic book writer that does a mix of creator owned and WFH. Some of my work includes Monster High (IDW Publishing), Mr. Muffins (Oni Press), the GLAAD-nominated Renegade Rule series (Dark Horse), and Heavenly Blues.

If you are able to stop work today without risk to your employment, then by all means participate.

I support the general strike, but I don't like finding out about the one happening today only 12 hours before.

This should have been an organized, concentrated effort beyond just social posts a day or two before.

May I suggest watching the sublime filmography of the late Satoshi Kon instead (the person he not so subtlety ripped off)? Can’t really go wrong with anything in his catalogue! 💜

I'm not sure how the math of it works, but somehow the thing that I'm currently writing is always the worst thing I've ever done, the last thing I finished somehow turned out better than I expected, but the next thing I've got lined up will be great from the jump, I'm sure of it. Every time.
