which can imply a variety of things. poob is so interesting to analyse because their behaviour is very extreme. I myself can't tell it is fully a mask or just their state when reacting to high stress/crisis like some kind of coping mechanism. maybe both... I can't get inside their head to know

true indeed, though I wonder if their carelessness can be considered a virtue or not... it's strange, because poob doesn't deny that they're in danger when confronted by pest, but seems to suggest that they don't need his concern or involvement

Probably something related to its 'ultimate goal', since poob asks about its motives. Personally i like to think that even despite mr's apparent power, its 'gift' to their cult following (the day in the future where supposedly everyone in the cult will be elevated to their desires (for eternity?)) is actually pure fabrication and only panders to the values of whoever mr is speaking to. Or... speaking at, I guess. The structure strikes me as resembling a doomsday cult, but considering the game's fantastical nature, I don't know if the end result will be as simple as death. (For one, real cult leaders don't usually have supernatural powers.... lol) "It's saddening that people don't seem to understand the gift he would bring, especially the tribute. But it is ok, MR has told us to bide our time. Everything will happen to our succession, and we will all be granted our greatest desires. We will no longer feel this regret. The parasite will gain freedom in death. The helper will live to feel true mortality. I will be able to spread the gospel forevermore. And most importantly, the tribute will be the vessel to our lord's conquest. It almost fills me with glee! But MR says that those emotions will make us prey. My personal interpretation of this interaction here is that mr tried to appease to its understanding of Poob trying to escape the cult despite their importance and "purpose', to the regretevator, an eternal entity, so mr may have gotten the sense that what Poob wants is eternal escapism or something like that. When in reality, it seems Poob's motives are closer to 'enjoying life as it comes', so they're just confused by mr's words instead.

i had a little too much to say about this. additionally I'm very intrigued in how casual poob is about talking to mr? maybe they just forgot who it really is, or maybe they genuinely dont see it as a threat because of something...
