Minister Dara Calleary TD has announced the opening of the 2026 Local Improvement Scheme (LIS).
The scheme will provide €17.5 million for repairs and improvement works on rural roads and laneways.

Yesterday Minister Jerry Buttimer reopened the newly refurbished library in Kilbeggan.
The library recieved a €208,000 investment from the Department for refurbishment works and now has extended opening hours under the My Open Library service.
Last Thursday, Minister Dara Calleary turned the sod on the latest CCIF project in Moneygall Co Offaly.
Once complete it will be transformative to the wider community and the generation to come.
