On Feb. 28, a “No Business as Usual” protest resulted in injuries and two arrests. One protester was struck by a vehicle as it plowed through a line of protesters blocking East 6th Avenue.

It reads: "UPDATE: At 8 p.m. on February 28, Eugene Police responded to reports that a large group of people were blocking the road near 6th Avenue and Pearl Street. At approximately 6 p.m., the driver of a black SUB was attempting to go slowly through this and people began to strike it. The driver accelerated to leave and a person on the hood of her vehicle began hitting and damaging the windshield before he fell off. The pedestrian, 19-year-old Shane Alexander Novak of Pflugerville, Texas, was treated at the scene and then transported by Eugene Springfield Fire to a local hospital for treatment of non=life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a Eugene woman in her 30s, had facial injuries from being struck in the face while her window was down and she was also evaluated at the scene and then transported to local hospital for treatment. Novak was issued criminal citations for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and Disorderly Conduct. There were reports of damage to other vehicles during the incident. Case 26-03074"

UPDATE: The EPD sent out a press release about half an hour ago that states they arrested and cited the 19-year-old who was photographed on the hood with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct.

Notably, there is no mention of *how* he ended up on the hood of a moving vehicle.
