You simply can’t fix a US STEM pipeline issue without investing in K-12 schools and STEM. The US relies on foreign born talent to fill critical workforce needs because we don’t have the STEM pipeline. STEM jobs often require graduate training and experience. You can’t just put anyone in those jobs.

My dissertation research on international students pursing master’s degrees in the US seems timely given all the discussion on H1-B visas.

Imagine if they could also consider a partner hire for an on campus job or job search assistance in the area to ease that transition!

Just submitted the final copy of my dissertation to the UNCW Grad School. The reality of it has not sunk in. Who knew a smart ass, scrappy kid and sexual abuse survivor from Reading, PA would one day defy the odds to earn two master’s (one from Harvard) and then earn a doctorate in education?

I learned since coming forward that my abuser sexually harassed at least one other student (and after she decided to enter the convent). I doubt I was the first or last, unfortunately.

Young was ordained by the OMV and served in CA for many years (parish then at Thomas Aquinas College). He did not move to Scranton until 1994-95 when he started at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Elmhurst, PA. He lived in a small place called “St Joseph House” until 2001/2002 then put in parish.

Scranton under Timlin was a very popular place for wannabe trads to become ordained. Home of FSSPs, Society of St John (Carlos Urrutigoity — Marshall Roberts in Ft Worth was part of this group), and several other oratories that were havens for abusers. The tentacles of Scranton fans out wide.

Young’s been on my radar. Up until 1-2 months ago, his address on Scranton’s site was a disbarred cousin’s address. I suspect Scranton had bigger concerns since they still have about 20 priests on LOA for several decades….yes, you read that correctly. Young is “minor” compared to others.

At age 17, my abuser-teacher told me “I checked the consent laws and we’re ok.” No, it was not. This man should NOT be the next AG.
