If your comment for responding to people calling out injustice, murder, and blatant corruption is “stop making it political” that tells me you don’t have an argument against and just want us to shut up.

Don't be afraid to walk away from a bad offer, no matter how "big" the publisher/project is. Not every opportunity is going to be a good one and if your work is good enough for someone to hire you then it's also good enough for those people to pay you fairly.
