The first step in fixing a problem is acknowledging that there is one.

It’s not a sacred building that bestows the Presidency on its occupant. Trump can hole up anywhere he wants to, and we will carry on without him with the new elected President.

Restaurants closing.
Houses staying on the market longer.
Jobs harder to find.
Sales cold calls and Emails increasing.
I’ve seen this before. I know what a recession looks like, even if this administration will never admit it.

Trump is using his own money (and the benevolent gifts of others) to pay the military and renovate his palace… excuse me the White House.

But he’s not a king.

Riiiigght. Got it.

The name Benedict Arnold is synonymous with being a traitor.

McCarthyism means political witch hunts.

In the future, the name Trump will mean corruption.

The rich don’t create jobs; consumers with money do. Nobody hires extra workers just because they have extra money from lower taxes. They only hire when there is increased demand from consumers. When the GOP increases costs on the poor to give tax breaks to the rich, recessions happen. Every time.

I’m convinced that the reason that Trump’s secret police all wear masks is that we’d realize that they’re all Proud Boys and other right wing militants living out their fantasy of terrorizing people of color.

Seems convenient that they’re turning attention towards their perceived enemies now that the actual shooter turned out to be conservative.

This morning I caught my local donut shop entering a high price, then a discount, to bring the total down to normal. Thus inflating the suggested tip. Sneaky.

National Guard members leave their jobs to do administrative tasks for ICE.
ICE makes farm and construction workers afraid to show up for work.

Republicans are now bad for business.
Republicans are now bad for agriculture.
Republicans are bad for law and order.

It seems that all they still stand for is white supremacy and tax cuts for the rich.

What we are seeing is the death-throes of Boomer conservatives. As time and attitudes have passed them by, they are using the power and money they have amassed to hold onto their vision of America, at all costs.
Soon they will be dead and we can get back to building a better country.

Republicans love their policies more than democracy.
Democrats love democracy more than their policies.
That’s why Republicans win. They will run right through norms and institutions to achieve their goals and dare us to stop them. And Dems will wring their hands and lament the lack of propriety.

When the Right’s ideas don’t win in a democracy, the Right don’t abandon their ideas… they abandon democracy.
