IMO there was and still is an understandable anger with how many people in the party shanked Biden but that doesn't explain why Kamala got a polling boost, fundraising boost, and volunteer boost that basically lasted the rest of the campaign.

I don't think the money people got what they wanted in terms of replacement choice so I'm not sure that's the precedent.

I think the gigantic fundraising and volunteer surge when Kamala was formally picked suggests there was something Biden wasn't able to provide that the partisans still wanted.

It's easy to forget we aren't even a year into term 2. We are seeing things that feel like culmination but are in fact just beginning.

IMO Trumpism kind of resolves this by creating an ideology so putrid that total opposition to its every position can become a rallying point regardless of ideological consistency. Democrats will become the total anti-Trump party because Trump will, without intention, force that position on them.

Fascism selects against competence over time but also selects against bravery over time by the same mechanisms. The current political shutdown is in many ways a result of the Republican party purging every member with even the tiny bravery required to mildly contradict Trump.

To give ourselves the best chance to win, I recommend the following changes to our approach. Democrats need to:
1. Focus on what I personally like.
2. Advocate for my preferred economic agenda.
3. Tell everyone I'm a special boy.
4. Quit doing what I dislike.
5. Embrace empty populist rhetoric.
