You can also read the text in English here: www.bundesliga.com/en/bundeslig... - maybe the best thing about this is exactly how specfic he gets about both the nature of and the solution to the problem.

You’ve gotta think about these with the context of the CECOT fancams they were making last year.

It would be near impossible to do this humanely. And they clearly don’t want to do that.

I mean this probably doesn't bode well for Iran, unfortunately.

They are under threat of a cyber attack so they preemptively shut down their computers.

Would have saved the Colonial fleet…

So the Pitt just went full Admiral Adama there at the end, huh?

None of this is as funny to me as their third year teacher being named Wolfy McWolferson.

Go get your tickets to PROJECT HAIL MARY - @phillordy & @chrizmillr this might be my favorite thing they have made. It's part 2001 part ET and a bit Planes Trains and Automobiles. It reminds you of what big blocbusters should be.

I can’t quite pinpoint what it is, but his style of engagement bait infuriates me so much I just have to log off every time I see it.

I guess I was pretty young, but my impression was there were sort of dual tracks.

Smoking in general was known to be bad and vilified.

But public smoking went from everywhere, to β€œsmoking sections,” to being banned in bars and restaurants and planes. That’s the part I’m imagining.

19.02.2026 00:33 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think it needs to go through the same thing as cigarette smoke. It’s everywhere, enough people say β€œew, not around me,” and then a combination of location restrictions and shame fixes the problem.

19.02.2026 00:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I think they are almost certainly right about this part, but unfortunately we are going to find out.

No they very clearly want to attack Iran so they're going to do it.

I'll be honest, I haven't been paying a lot of attention to Iran, but I just read a thread on another forum I enjoy and boy are people positively HORNY for war.

Is there some plan I don't know about? Have we just hit 20 years and memories of Iraq have faded?

He is a shocking creep. His entire Twitter persona is trying to whip up mobs to get angry at trans people.

In one recent ad a super PAC put a dark filter over the entire ad. So, yes, it darkened her skin, as well as his, as well as everything else.

I believe that’s the source of this one.

I was gonna say, wait, can we blame the exceedingly long gap before Euphoria season 3? Maybe it reverses this year!

What's so frustrating is that Jain is just Nate Silver from 10 years ago. He's producing useful data! If lots of people are turning against trans rights, it's way better to know so we can do something. This is an important poll.

But they are both abysmal at punditry.

17.02.2026 19:49 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yep - and it's personal preference clad in "objective" facts. Would have a lot more respect for all of these people if they would simply say "I would like the policy to be X" than doing all this dancing to justify it.

17.02.2026 19:44 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah I always think "name a WNBA player who isn't Caitlin Clark" would end basically every one of these conversations.

To your point, here's some shit that really sucks. From the most obvious possible source.

Would love for him to explain which of the polled policies are "questionable metaphysics." Seemed like a poll of practical rights to me...

C. maybe we [the dems] should put effort into shifting public opinion, instead of accepting the ongoing onslaught of republican efforts to demonize a small minority [i.e. trans folks] as a fait accompli, but what do I know i'm just one of those $slurs with skin in this game

17.02.2026 17:05 β€” πŸ‘ 650    πŸ” 85    πŸ’¬ 10    πŸ“Œ 8

I mean it was bad enough when it was just trash sports takes. Horrific now.

It's helpful to contrast this with the "RINO" idea. Republicans constantly fight over who is more Republican - Democrats fight to be seen as less Democratic.

What possible conclusion could an observer come to other than "Republican good, Democrat bad." We cannot foster this dynamic.

17.02.2026 16:11 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

If it's going to happen, it's going to be by creating a positive vision of the Democratic party and the values and goals it has for governance. Something people are happy to stand up and publicly get behind.

It's not going to be by showing that the best candidates are the rebels.

17.02.2026 16:04 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 1

While it might narrowly help in one race, what it actually does is reinforce the one thing that's our biggest problem - the idea that Democrats are bad and it's shameful to agree with them too much.

We aren't going to get a sweeping Dem coalition by bloodlessly triangulating to win Iowa voters.
