Looking back, it’s no wonder I gravitated so strongly towards team comics like Secret Six.

They’re my closest friends in the world now. I can be vulnerable around them. I put some of my own real trauma into my first backstory, not expecting it to ever be addressed directly, then watched my new friends volunteer to fight that monster with me. My therapist always asks how my game is going.

Critical Role got me into D&D. I first played with a group at our shop in 2017 when the Tal’Dorei campaign setting came out. I was new, the other players were strangers. The campaign ran several months. After, a few of us who had hit it off formed our own group. We still meet weekly 8 years later.

I lived thru the end of public smoking. Early in my career I presented to city councils who were smoking, in front of audiences who were smoking.

Smoking in restaurants, airplanes, hospitals…

All of that seems insane now, but it was very controversial when we DID change it.

In August 2013, 8th Dimension Comics & Games collaborated with Alamo Drafthouse Houston on Dungeons & Drafthouses, a 4-movie marathon of 3 fantasy films + the then-new film Zero Charisma. Between movies, @manster2099 led a group of 4 players through D&D scenes/combats onstage for the audience.
