Further, the Corridor Alliance isn’t against ALTO, as there is an existing transportation corridor, closer to population centres with a reduced transit time. The problem in saying NIMBY is that it paints over the complexity of issues and is an easy fallback for people to say that aren’t affected.

With all due respect, the ALTO proposes routing through an area called the Frontenac Arch Biosphere reserve is a UNESCO recognize World Heritage site. This area has among the highest rates of biodiversity in Canada.
