The review didn't even really make this argument. I think this was a misstep by whoever wrote the subhead.

There are valid conversations to be had around bias and low-value content. Lord knows we're not perfect! But lost in this uproar is the fact that *news outlets produce information people need to do their jobs better.* They create real value that many employers (govt included) are willing to pay for.
