My sister drives a notability car. She herself is not disabled, but her daughter is. Two things:
1. They had to pay a considerable amount towards the cost. Like, more than the cost of a decent second hand car.
2. It's not a "blue three wheeler" because that wouldn't accommodate the wheelchair.

Personally for me, I've recently received a diagnosis of Pan-enteric Dysmotility with Gastroparesis being a huge factor.

My own care plan involves prokinetics, altering certain medications, and long term care from a gastro dietician to figure out what I can safely eat long term.

Prokinetics are often used as a first-line treatment to help manage symptoms, but other people with gastroparesis who have more severe symptoms sometimes need surgical and more invasive interventions to stop malnutrition and weight loss from worsening.

Gastroparesis is tough to live with, and it's a condition I have personal experience with.

Gastroparesis is a frequently observed gut issue in people with EDS/HSD, and can show up alongside different forms of dysmotility encompassed under 'Pan-enteric Dysmotility'.

Hope isn’t soft. It’s dangerous to the powerful.

It’s what drives people to act even when the world feels fixed against them. We don’t choose the times we live in - but we can choose what we do with them.

I was out most of yesterday with EDS support UK's NI branch as a member helping to raise awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

Got talking to some wonderful people who wanted to learn more for their own benefit or their loved ones.

EDS is still a mystery to most, these stalls make a difference!

I personally live with EDS, POTs and other co morbidities of Dysautonomia.

It's still Dysautonomia awareness month, and there are still no standardised care pathways for many of these conditions!

It's also practically impossible to get a diagnosis of MCAS on the NHS as it is 'controversial'.

Tom has a lot to give, just like his paid co-workers; it's downright deplorable and condescending they suggest he 'couldn't do the full role' despite doing it for the past four years anyways.

Autistic people deserve equal opportunities to work.

Unfortunately, this is incredibly common for disabled people in the work place; a lot of employers won't make reasonable adjustments, unfair wages and exploitation.

As an autistic person myself, I'd like to condemn the actions of those in Waitrose who allowed this to happen. Tom deserved better.

Four years of hard work, and people telling him he was working harder than people who were paid to be there.

No thanks, no reasonable adjustments despite the Equality Act 2010 outlining it clearly that Tom shouldn't have been treated unfairly because of his needs as an autistic individual.

The head offices were 'alarmed' by the amount of unpaid hours, and wouldn't be able to work until the situation was sorted.

He has been unable to work for two months now, and won't be able to return due to the decision made by Waitrose HQ.

Tom, who was beloved by the people he worked with on the floor and this decision came from the harsh, cold corporate head office that didn't see Tom as an individual deserving of an opportunity to be paid for his hard work.

Worst of all, this was something Tom wanted to do and enjoyed doing!
