Gun violence is not just a security issue. It is a public health crisis shaped by inequality, gender norms, and the global gun market. Our new report argues prevention must move beyond policing towards health, equity and evidence.

In relation to cases in the Military Justice System, the information you are seeking is not held centrally. While Service Law cases are recorded on the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) System, the details of each case are not inputted in such a way to easily determine which are relevant to your request. The recording of Service Law cases includes a specific drop-down list of values to select the location from, however it is not mandatory to complete this field as there will be incidents that occur in locations that are not listed within JPA. Therefore, in order to identify the specific facts of each case, this would require each of the cases to be manually reviewed to ascertain whether the case was relevant to your request. Across the three single Services for the specified time period, it is not possible to accurately estimate how long it would take to provide this data due to the size of the task however that the time and resource required to locate, retrieve, and extract the information you are seeking, would undoubtedly exceed the appropriate limit.
