While not a religious person myself, there are words from some texts that hold meaning to me regardless. "You are not required to finish the work, yet neither are you permitted to desist from it." Is always one that rings so true with me. I may not see the goal completed, but I will work for it.

And the people who want to make things better, are also the kindest people who really DON'T want to fight. And those who make things worse, are the kind if people who eagerly jump to fighting as a solution to everything. It's just so tiring to have to fight when you don't want to, but must.

The most frustrating part of being a student of history, is learning that stuff doesn't get better without people forcing it to be better. As long as we're putting in the effort to make stuff better, it will improve, but not with the consent of those in power. It always ends up being a fight...
