The psychological element can't be overstated.

While not to dissuade, it's worth noting that non-US proprietary tech can be sold to the US at any time. Seek out free/libre apps first if you can (eg Nextcloud et al, like Paris mentions) + always look for non-US servers. If you live in US, a server co-op can be a good option. We don't. Like how down-ballot Dems didn't want Biden stumping for them in 24 or won't openly endorse Schumer for leader now. They're politically toxic to voters, only the donors prop them up. If the party doesn't rebuke them, there won't be Dems on any ballot come 2028.

The 6th US party system is over & the Dem party (as constituted) will be lucky if it survives to next Nov. A state-by-state coalition of Greens and Reds in 2026 could knock Dems off the ballot by 2028 (if there still are ballots by then) or crash the convention to overturn it from within.
