Best guess is that for me it’s 90% writing/editing (I include “hustling new work” here as I don’t really do work-for-hire, mostly because no one ever offers me work-for-hire 😅) and like, 10% promotion.

It’s literally never once happened to me in the 25 years I’ve been at this. But if it did (and it was a good fit for both parties) I would certainly make time for something like that.

Oh also want to mention this great graphic novel which was so amazing to read. It's called Brownstone by @samuelteer.bsky.social It's a must read. So real, so true ,so heartfelt and the illustrations are fantastic. #book #booksky #graphicnovel #life

okay, so. i have bipolar disorder. we have a suicide rate of about 1/5. i've basically spent my entire teenage and adult life trying not to kill myself. so with that in mind, here are my tips on how to hang in there: 1) don't isolate. i know all the excuses. but don't do it

Also, it’s *comics*. The awards are nice, but they don’t change our lives or improve book sales. And we have to just know people we work with or around are totally willing to be openly racist at us over what basically amounts to a nice gesture.
