If you have prismacolor pencils, I remember those being absolutely fantastic! Start with your flat colors and work your way into doing darker shades and understand where basic shadows go (tutorials online will help more than me!), and I personally used to use a good ol white gel pen for highlights!

Amazing use of perspective! :D

If I was still a traditional artist I would give you more solid and cohesive advice but unfortunately I don't do stuff like that anymore :[
