A shallow lake in late autumn/early winter, with artificially created mud banks for waders. The mud banks have been colonised by greenery, mostly grasses due to the lowering water levels.
An old Victorian reservoir that has been converted into a natural lake for biodiversity. The brickwork face has been fully covered by grasses and now willow and buddleia. Mud banks can be seen in the background.
Whilst I may not work in nature as of now, I would like to think I'm still connected. Just started working at my second volunteer organisation today in Grimsargh, Lancashire. First time I've seen lapwing in numbers.
Hopefully I can get started on invert sampling alongside the habitat management.
