That's great! It's been 10 years since I quit and I've only craved a cigarette a few times thankfully. One time was when I was on a trip to MagicCon Vegas and one of my buddies smoked.

The only other time I can remember is this year when things have gotten rough on the world stage and personally.

Forgot to add...I graduated high school the season this aired. Which is very weird to think about.

Season 11 Cont...

This season had a lot of great episodes, like E I, E I, Doh! but they are surrounded by OK episodes.

Also, Betty White guest stars, which is fun. Granted the episode is bit...insensitive. Couldn't be done today. Which isn't the only one. Definitely a different time.

Season 11: 1999-2000

The season that brought us "tomacco", the death of Maude Flanders, and the sobriety of Barney Gumble. This was the time where they decided characters would maintain the "growth" or change from season to season.

Random aside: It must have been so much fun working on the sfx crews for these films.

The comparisons I'm seeing to Kodak and Blockbuster are baffling to me. Kodak and Blockbuster smashed into a wall because they weren't paying attention to trends while their numbers were "normal", stagnating, or even falling.

WoTC numbers are going up. WAY up.

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

I really wanted to get a collector booster box but I couldn’t justify it. $450 is way to much to get just 12 packs.

Last opponent on an Orzhov build just had too much removal. Couldn’t keep anything on the board. Was a fun last round though. Love it when I can get my ass kicked and still have a good time!

Ok, this is getting weird. Opponent was on a Jund build. Had me on the ropes both games but I drew into my removal and was able to pull both games out.

Sewer Samurai continues to be the MVP.

While the prerelease I’m at now is lower than Lorwyn was, it’s still a packed house. 60+ players. It does seem like most of us are 40 something’s where other prereleases have more of an age spread. But I’m happy with it!

My opponent was playing B/W and had a pretty good bit of removal but thankfully they weren’t able to get enough of a board state to stabilize.

Sewer Samurai and Don & Leo are great cards.

Seriously, this is the easiest build I’ve ever done. Put together the cards I wanted…23. Color ratio was slightly toward white…9 plains/8 islands.

Goldfished a bit, felt smooth as butter.

This will probably be the best 3-0 deck I will ever pilot to 0-3!

I think my pool is telling me something.

To clarify it was MY first official event that I attended. Not the first official event ever. That was probably sometime in ‘93 or ‘94.

So here we are, 25 years later I realize that this kid played a mechanic wrong and I got destroyed because of it. (I probably would have lost anyway but still…)

Thought I would share this fun little revelation.
