We have Best of American SFF, Best of Canadian SFF, Best of British SFF. I wish so badly that editors take up the task of editing an yearly Best of Latin American SFF as well. It would be great!

Hopping on the back of this to highlight that the inclusion of Best Translated Novel in the recommended reading list this year means there is now also a Best Translated Novel category in the awards - so go forth and vote! Because if not enough people use the category, it might not be there forever.

First year for the Locus recommended Translated SF!

I'm going to say this for like the 1000th time but someone please, please, please publish a new translation of Martinson's generation ship-gone-wrong science fiction epic poem ANIARA (1956).

I've tried for years to find a translator to do it for Lever Press but I just don't have the resources.

any translation publishers out there willing to share how many pitches they receive a year on average?

Good literary translation requires understanding (language, culture, genre--on both sides of the translation) and an ability to write well. "AI" can't do that. There are no shortcuts. Treat your work and foreign language readers with the respect they deserve. You won't fool anyone with this.
