Reminded myself how totally amazing the Greenwich foot tunnel is this morning. Caught up with @karinlt.bsky.social and @escalatenow.bsky.social campaigners calling for more reliable lifts to support this important river crossing.

We’re very disappointed to see no evidence of Greenwich foot tunnels on this map. And these should be embedded in local transport policies. The cable car (which does feature) is not the best way for cyclists and wheelers to travel.

When will the foot tunnels be taken seriously? A response to a FOI published last September tells us components from north lift were used for the south lift. It’s simply not true that Precision Lifts are having to wait on ‘bespoke’ parts. A full investigation into this contractor is necessary!

Great reception to Green message on the doorsteps of Denton & at Longsight Market - voting Greens is clearly seen as best way to stop the hate-filled politics of Reform in the Gorton and Denton by-election. Bumping into the Guardian’s @johnharris1969.bsky.social was an added bonus 🙂

The Guardian. Swift bricks to be installed on all new buildings in Scotland as MSPs back law. Rest of UK has resisted calls to make builders install bricks that provide nesting for swifts and other endangered birds.

Swifts are in serious decline across the UK, with their population dropping by 66% since 1995.

Yesterday the Scottish Parliament backed our amendment to introduce nesting bricks in new buildings. This will help reverse that trend and make our communities more liveable for birds. 🌍
