All that being said, DS is hugely popular & has staying power because it’s BEAUTIFUL and gives ample time to build up demon & side character backstories. I genuinely felt bad for many demons before they die.

- some libraries in some states might want to stop after the Infinity Train arc (vol 8). After that, characters head to the Entertainment District, also known as the Red Light district. Nothing is seen on pg, but implications & “geisha” are around.

Some notes since laws have been passed in states since this article was published:
- DS is gory throughout. People and demons get murdilated right on page. It’s kinda states up front that there is gonna be… slaying…

Me #AALS25 didn’t end how I wanted and I didn’t get to say goodbye to everyone, but I had a whirlwind of a time presenting FIVE TIMES with most of my #MangaGTS crew, meeting virtual friends IRL, and learning about valuable nonfiction & elem resources.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Creators Update Fans With Sad Announcement Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has just received devastating news ahead of its long-awaited Season 2 premiere in January 2026.

Frieren manga goes on hiatus due to the poor health of the creators.

Here’s to the speedy and complete recovery of Yamada- and Abe-sensei, and I really really hope something can be done about the unhealthy lifestyle of the manga industry.
