Crumpets: Holes on top with a cripy brown bottom, made with batter, unique texture, would not be used for an egg mcmuffin
(English) Muffins: Holes inside, made with dough, holes on the inside only visible once sliced open, used for an egg mcmuffin
(American) Muffins: Just a massive fairy cake

No you don't though! You call /muffins/ "English muffins", they're nothing like crumpets!
