I did not have "watching a manga publisher crash and burn live" on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are... I feel like this is the start of the manga bubble finally bursting. It's all just a giant mess. Corporate greed is on full display, and it's honestly sickening. Maybe the JPN side will "learn."

Eh, it wouldn't surprise me if they generated a script for it that way too, but I think everyone is a bit too quick to label lists and the "whether it's x or why" as AI way too quickly. That format is found in sooooo many of the Gundam book blurbs it's ridiculous.

How pathetic has Bandai gotten that they have to resort to using an AI-generated clip of a child waving at the RX-78 statue? Are they trying to be hip and trendy? Not the way to do it. I think the voiceover is AI too. Then again, they MTL their news/official sites, soooo. Not surprising.

P-Bandai's price markups in general don't make much sense. I mean, the Wing book set that came out was $200. The exchange rate at the time put it at $95-$110. There was no reason they couldn't have charged $150 for it and still made money. I scored two for the price of one (not counting shipping)

I'm sorry, I don't care what anyone tries to say about how "different" the US market is for Gunpla (and how you can't compare them), a god damn $350 markup on something like this is a fraking JOKE. Even the ¥66,000 ($~430) is pushing it.

It's only in the print version. The ebook omits it. And IDK why they changed it to "this book" like it's the SEED book specifically when he meant their (Kinokuniya) books. The whole commentary they had is oddly phrased in hindsight.

I've even checked my ebook version, and I do not believe there was any sort of major change from first print runs to fifth (I'm using the print copy for translating). So it makes one wonder wth they were smoking or using.

I can see that happening with a couple of lines (I've done that myself) unless you mean an entire convo? 😂

I've been translating the SEED novel for someone and I love how Tokyopop wants you to believe hotdog water bullshit like this actually happened. It did not. I have no idea what happened with the translating and editing of this novel but its existence is egregious as hell. So much made up BS.

They're the original subs from the first release they did decades ago. Why they didn't pull from the UC Libraries is beyond me.

I get that I do a lot of bitching about the official side, but honestly, is it THAT hard for them? You want to grow your base outside of Japan and you can't even provide proper subs for the milestone start to the IP.

As time marches on Bandai just continues to show how inept they are and couldn't give a flying fart about presenting their IPs properly. It's incredibly disheartening. I swear the fandom has better quality control than they do half the time.

Why is GundamInfo using ANCIENT subtitles for the movies? Jesus they can't do anything right, can they?
