True, I am still developing my "Planet of the Toons" epic, which, almost like in Jeff Smith's "Bone" comics, is also a towering epic work along the lines of Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings that just so happened to be peopled with all kinds of fantastic and/or cartoony characters and creatures...

And so, my Planet of the Toons project's three acts may be fairly simple in plot (or, maybe not), although I will still build a vast epic from that, especially through meticulous story and character research and development, despite a very long runtime.

But anyway, what do you think of my plot?

David Zarus and Tanya Mousekewitz's goodbye embrace before David leaves the toon planet to share proof of his experiences there back home on Earth.

And that may even be before the three astronauts (David Zarus included) decided to pack up and leave the toon planet to return home in triumph, so that they can share proof of their experiences with the peoples of the real Earth.

And act three may focus on our heroes turning the tide against Mandark's forces in the East-countries and a further battle in Mandark's territory up north, from the Red Gates to Mandark's castle, culminating in Popeye intervening, Fievel fulfilling the prophecy, and Mandark's evil collapsing...

And then they moved on to the Old World, and then, after one of the mice gets kidnapped during a desert village raid by Ali Baba's Forty Thieves, way father East, where Daffy Duck rescue Tanya from Mandark in spite of his cowardly self, and they escape his castle on some flying creature.

While act two may focus on their training for the coming battle against Mandark, before, after the fall of Toontown was reported, six of our heroes (David, Dexter, Fievel, Tanya, Dexter, Bugs and Daffy) will embark with Popeye and his own friends (Wimpy and Olive Oyl), first to the Isle of Sinbad...

Long Distance Interspecies Deep Space Phone Call between David Zarus of Earth and Fievel and Tanya Mousekewitz of the faraway Toon Earth. This was the night that David Zarus receives a long-distance phone call from Fievel and Tanya who are both requesting that he help them defeat the tyrant (Mandark) threatening the mice with destruction because of a prophecy predicting his downfall at the paws of Tanya's own brother Fievel.

Well, Act One may start on the night that David Zarus of Earth gets a phone call from Tanya and Fievel the mice of Toon Earth, and may probably conclude with all ten companions - cartoon and real - arriving on a remarkable Atlantis-like island where they get a warm welcome from the local king.

And then the head of ink and paint working on Fievel Goes West would try out a lot of color tests before everyone else could do actual animation of her as a saloon girl...like for example, this double spread of Tanya Mousekewitz in a saloon dress of a different color from a French picture book:

You see, Phil Nibbelink would have made the first sketches of what Tanya should look like as a saloon girl during Fievel Goes West, and when it came time to animate Tanya as a saloon girl, he would have one of the animators do this cleanup drawing based on one of his own story sketches:

Anyway, I once emailed one of the co-directors of Fievel Goes West, Phil Nibbelink, about Tanya's saloon girl dress, and he responded that he actually storyboarded the Tanya as a saloon girl scene himself, and he would reference saloon scenes from older, classic American westerns, like this one:

In fact, in most promotional materials for Fievel Goes West at the time of its release, and especially the three-issue comic book adaptation of Fievel Goes West from a pre-Disney, pre-cinematic universe Marvel Comics from 1991 or 1992, Tanya in her saloon girl dress looked something just like this:

True, virtually everyone who has ever talked about An American Tail: Fievel Goes West itself preferred talking about James Stewart's last performance (Wylie Burp) over everyone and everything else in the movie, but me, though...

I like the Tanya as a saloon girl part of Fievel Goes West a lot!

WARNING: This is NOT your typical lighthearted fun and cartoony comedy caper for the whole family. It's an out of this world, monumental epic of a wondrous civilization where good and evil struggled for dominion over an entire planet around them as well as the increasingly large scale adventures of a small mouse with the heart of a hero (An American Tail's Fievel Mousekewitz) and his sister (Tanya Mousekewitz of Fievel Goes West fame) who (along with a young astronaut from space) are destined to save the cartoon world from the forces of evil threatening the universe. There is a whole, unique world to explore, a grim castle, a magic sword, an ancient prophecy, a fantastic journey, a heroic quest, an epic struggle between good and evil, and a very noble cause - all involving cartoon characters including - but not limited to - many of the famous and lesser known ones from across the entire history of the art of animation and its timeless legacy. It's also a spectacular cinematic experience on a truly epic scale, one that you and your family, friends, and loved ones will never forget. (Hopefully...)

Look, I'd just broadened the scope of my Planet of the Toons epic with The Siege of Toontown, @chrisskeeter.bsky.social, but does it all make me feel very nervous to be on the internet even for a little while longer now?
