I seem to recall, years ago, reading about a plan to reforest Highland glens by carpet-bombing them with tree saplings pushed out the back ramp of a Herculese. They would have a very pointy root plugs that would act as a ground penetrator, the tree itself acting as a stabilising drogue

AND at the time the archive was based in an old WW2 RAF bunker that still had a huge map of the north sea for pushing round little models of planes/boats

The temp job, possibly the best ever, was typing in the Acquisitions Ledger, which I think started some time in the later 1800s. I got to put a huge dusty tome on a special cushion and type away while archivists occasionally showed me incredibly cool things they'd just found

I spent a winter temping at our county archives, which was brilliant, but I also found out there was a group called "Friends Of The County Archives" and another called "Real Friends Of The County Archives" and a big part of the archivists' job was making sure they never met
