Definitely skinchies in Newcastle in the 1980s, you had to cross your fingers at the same time though!

Quite sad that the recent White-billed Divers we’re β€˜enjoying’ are very likely victims of recent climate-driven winter storms & high winds, with several corpses involved.

Other species, notably Puffins, have also been badly affected.

As we continue to warm, winter storms will worsen.

A visitor to the National Trust property of Wallington Hall, Northumberland captures the crocus display on her camera-phone this afternoon. A stunning purple carpet, which should be around for a week or two if you're wanting to plan a visit.

At Wallington Hall, Northumberland, this afternoon, capturing around 100,000 purple crocuses covering some 3,500 square metres in this National Trust property garden.
Planted a few years back by some 20 volunteers – a breath-taking feast for the eyes!

Is it sectarian when Reform talk about Judeo-Christian heritage? Is it divisive when Starmer talks about becoming an island of strangers? Is voting on religious lines an issue when Kemi declares her ethnic emnity towards Nigerian Muslims? It is weird to be so fixated on this discussion suddenly!

With February coming to a close, the sound of Mediterranean Gulls is a regular one over the eastern Solent harbours. At West Hayling, courtship has begun & will continue until they move on in the Spring.

I’ve seen 48 ringed Black-headed Gulls in London’s Royal Parks this week. Most were ringed in London, but individuals already sporting rings had come from Finland, Czechia, Germany and Denmark. Between them, they’ve generated over 900 resightings across Europe. πŸ§ͺ🌍 #UKbirding #BirdRinging

Georgia's regime shut down its best university, criminalized foreign funding, and made it illegal to protest on a sidewalk more than onceβ€”all in weeks.

Georgians have protested daily for 450 days. Regime's response: go after everything at once. Universities, NGOs, pharmacies, car imports, sidewalks

Even if it doesn't harm wildlife, producing the sodium hydroxide is most likely generating way more than 10 tons of CO2.

Did you know falconry was one of few medieval sports that both men & women were welcome to participate in? Peregrine falcons were a popular bird for ladies because they're small. Also, they apparently hunt by PUNCHING OTHER BIRDS OUT OF THE SKY WITH THEIR CLOSED FISTS.
