Education and the Gender Division of Labor in Japan: Trends in Paid and Unpaid Work From 1991 to 2016 This paper develops a nuanced understanding of how educational attainment is associated with time allocation trends of Japanese men and women by examining the gendered division of labor in Japan betw...

Excited to have my research on Japan's glacial gender revolution out. University-educated couples led modest shifts toward more equitable housework sharing, but overall traditional patterns persist in Japan between 1991 and 2016.

one can use to check a table of published numbers for mathematical consistency. Possibly in @stuartjritchie.bsky.social brilliant book "Science Fictions", but possibly somewhere else. I do not seem to be able to track down the source. Any suggestions? 2/2

Help! I have a table that compares 2 groups of people clustered into 3 sub-categories each and contains mean and median values on a certain measure and sample sizes for the 2 groups. Just looking at the table the numbers do not look right to me mathematically. I think I read once about a tool 1/2

One of the preliminary findings of our @nettaweinstein.bsky.social and Vicki Nash on how young people experience parents' managing their digital lives is that communication is key for young people being on board and supportive of parents efforts. What better way to communicate than a GAME!

For larger families to become more attractive to more families, and especially women, major changes to Japanese workplace culture are necessary.

Can Japan's four-day work week solve its birth rate crisis? The solution requires a fundamental shift in workplace culture, not just more policies, according to an analyst.

Was interested to hear about Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "plans to introduce a four-day workweek to ease the burden on families," but also ultimately skeptical that this will solve the issue of declining birth rates.
