Excited to have my research on Japan's glacial gender revolution out. University-educated couples led modest shifts toward more equitable housework sharing, but overall traditional patterns persist in Japan between 1991 and 2016.

13.01.2025 12:28 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0one can use to check a table of published numbers for mathematical consistency. Possibly in @stuartjritchie.bsky.social brilliant book "Science Fictions", but possibly somewhere else. I do not seem to be able to track down the source. Any suggestions? 2/2
08.01.2025 10:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Help! I have a table that compares 2 groups of people clustered into 3 sub-categories each and contains mean and median values on a certain measure and sample sizes for the 2 groups. Just looking at the table the numbers do not look right to me mathematically. I think I read once about a tool 1/2

30.12.2024 21:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I know! I wish more of coverage of AI to[ics really focused on what it does well vs on what it cannot do really, or does badly...
Hope all is well with you guys, happy holidays!
I really like AI Snake Oil book on the subject by @randomwalker.bsky.social press.princeton.edu/books/hardco...
would recommend as a great holiday read too!

21.12.2024 14:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One of the preliminary findings of our @nettaweinstein.bsky.social and Vicki Nash on how young people experience parents' managing their digital lives is that communication is key for young people being on board and supportive of parents efforts. What better way to communicate than a GAME!
20.12.2024 10:49 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0For larger families to become more attractive to more families, and especially women, major changes to Japanese workplace culture are necessary.
14.12.2024 08:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Was interested to hear about Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "plans to introduce a four-day workweek to ease the burden on families," but also ultimately skeptical that this will solve the issue of declining birth rates.
14.12.2024 08:25 β π 10 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0It was great to have an opportunity to discuss our latest research with Prof Vicki Nash on this podcast! @oiioxford.bsky.social This research is based on conversations with 16-17 year olds in the UK who shared with us how they feel about parental digital mediation of their lives.
