Even though I was not the one to see him with the spark no longer within him, the news is devastating. This agony is not one that will fade for some time. I will forever be haunted by all the things that could have been done sooner. Udon, you will be missed in ways you will never know. 💔 (3/3)

He was five years old, raised from a baby in my care, but went off food this spring. This was not his first hunger strike but his worst. My heart burned with agony when surrendering him to give him a fighting chance. I knew he might not pull though, and steeled myself against the possibility. (2/3)
