The latter half feels like the first proper story sequel to the classic games that we've had in a long time, just full of RE2, 3, and 4 references (and 6?). It did feel nice having that throwback after how disconnected 7 and 8 were, even if those were great.

I felt like the first half was incredible and then the 2nd half was largely fan service but it was almost like after all this time and after how good the first half was the fan service was earned?

Man after spending a decent *Chunk* of time in my 2nd playthrough of RE9 it might be even better than I thought the first time. Holy crap.

Great entry, if a little stuffed to the brim with fan service. But I can't deny that said fan service got me hyped as hell. Does a good job being both kinds of RE games. It's at least as good as 7 and 8, and a worthy legacy sequel to 2, 3, and 4.

New Blood being based as hell again

Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 are some of my all-time favorites. The recent Bananza game was also wonderful.
