i write sometimes
memories shrouded
in sandstorm and hurricane
forecast: light drizzle
fog covered mirror
displays only an outline;
shadowed eyes and lips
inland seam measures
roughly fifty feet across
with an unknown depth
quiet eyes betray
twisted limbs, ancient instinct
an outpour of us
oh, little flower
drifting away on life's stream
won't you bloom once more?
cerulean glow
of eventide revealing
lightning in a jar
metamorphic bones
hewn into fossil strata
remembrance entombed
deadpan moonlit breath
a shuffle in the sheets; she's
so distantly close
bowie knife blisters
heated edge held to the palm
replenishing touch
gift of the orchard
oh, sweetly sour sensation
oof ouch my mouth hurts
another night of basking in a dream
sightless silence slipping in between
asunder, the sound;
gilded gears grinding in greed
are aptly parted
a blank book beckoning;
vacant verses vexing me
starlight's winking eyes
sunswept clouds shadow the moon
creeping tides arise
nest these weathered bones
though flesh and feathers have flown
heart and head now rest
shattered space in the cupboard lingers
dust and ashes; both dead ringers
