With these studies we have showed that #epigenetic regulators of the #neuron-to-glioma axis can serve as actionable #targets in #GB.

Viewing neuron-glioma interactions through an epigenetic lens helped us understand how glioma cells exploit neural signals to fuel their growth.

AMPAR antagonist NBQX reduces GB cell proliferation in co-culture with glutamatergic neurons, as expected. But the GABAAR antagonist picrotoxin doesn’t affect GB growth in the setting with GABAergic interneurons. This suggests #GABA signalling drives #GB growth through non-synaptic mechanisms.

Yet our ML-based analysis flagged #GABA signalling as key in #GB. Notably, we showed that #GABAergic neurons promote #GB cell proliferation in co-culture assays.
