The Beast of Orlok - About time Eight had another gothic horror adventure. This one's got golems! Not the best use of their lore I've seen, but they're still cool. Lucie highlight: finding the LTD switch (despite the Doctor telling her it was a button). #BigFinishDW

I can't argue with any particular point, but comparing Neelix to gay people does feel homophobic.

I don't even know if I agree that BvS is worse. At least it has some funny moments. WW84 is just cringe.

Probably Avatar: The Way of Water. I was so mad at Film Twitter for making me think it might be good, and so mad at myself for ignoring my better instincts.

Close second would be Rise of Skywalker, but at least I knew that would be bad going in. I just didn't know *how* bad.

Whoever you all ship, I hope you're writing/reading great fics about them today!

And most of all, Doctor/TARDIS. I like that their relationship is incomprehensible to humans, but they still have to negotiate all the normal problems of a long-term partnership: communication, boundaries, consent, etc. They fight all the time, but they literally can't live without each other. OTP.

Twelve/River. (Maybe I just like shipping Twelve with people because he's so asexual. 🤷‍♀️) Their one episode together is so much more romantic than the entire season devoted to her relationship with Eleven. And even though there's still an age gap, it feels less creepy with 2 equally mature actors.

Here's a controversial one: Twelve/Clara. I said no Time Lord/human ships, but this one isn't a romance. It's an obsession between two massive egos who see their purest reflections in one another. It's toxic and destructive for everyone involved, they know it, and I love that kind of mess. 🖤

Four/Romana. Both versions, but more chemistry with Romana II because of the real-life relationship bleeding through. I just love how much fun they have together. And it's the only Doctor/companion romance that doesn't end in tragedy. I imagine they stayed friends over the centuries.

So, working chronologically: Doctor/Master. All incarnations, all stories (except maybe Time-Flight b/c it's so rubbish). I feel they're the only beings in the universe who fully understand each other. Can't beat the spark between Pertwee/Delgado, but I also love the Twelve/Missy arc.

For me, there needs to be chemistry (so no Clara & Danny), but not necessarily sexual chemistry (this is heresy, I know, but I'm not a huge Jack/Ianto fan). I also don't love fuzzy, conflict-free romance. My faves are toxic relationships where both partners are equally at fault--but still in love.

It's Valentine's Day, which means it's time for me to talk about my Doctor Who ships! But first, a disclaimer: I'm hard to please. I hate all Time Lord/human romance because they're not relationships between equals. I also hate romance where one person is doing ALL the work (i.e. Amy & Rory).

Hothouse - My favourite Things from Another World are back! The Krynoids are a perfect villain for showcasing Eight's newly cynical attitude towards humanity, and it's a fun romp. Shame the Doctor won't help with the climate change problem...

As an anti-football-fan, I like watching the Superbowl because it's such a perfect snapshot of the country's highs and lows. You've got commercials selling the dregs of capitalism, the brain-destroying sport itself, and then a beautiful performance by a talented, usually non-white artist. That's 🇺🇲!

Thirteen is a baby by Elvish standards. That child should be with her mother learning how to talk to trees, not doing any kind of wound care.
