I've noticed a lot of kinks end up working this way for a lot of critters.

I don't think kinks cause kinks! but I think that a kink might lead you to noticing things you like in another kink, or also getting more used to something that might have made a kink inaccessible before.

If there was a setting in postybirb to auto-stamp a custom signature at the bottom of every drawing you posted, would you use it?

Hm, I can't solve 1 or 4 (aside from telling you both that you are good enough, and also that art is a reflection of yourself, and no matter the quality you should sign it for the same reason you sign a friendly letter, because it has bits of you in it <3)

But followup on #2, do you use Postybirb?

If you're an artist that doesn't sign your work, why not?

I am begging anti-porn crusaders to talk to even one horny asexual or even one furry. There are kinks that are more alien and abstract than your wildest fantasies.

Part of the letdown was me thinking, "if I had done this better, or if I got *enough* of my todo list done, then I'd feel good." But no, it's just.. how my ADHD works. I can just expect it, I don't feel good when I finish things.

But I had spent so long *trying* to feel good when I finished things, that is was kind of freeing to be like, "oh this just isn't going to be a motivator for me, and also if I feel bad it doesn't mean something is wrong, I just need to use other motivators instead."

Immediately, my brain just compartmentalizes it, files it away and thinks either "here's what you could have done better", or "here's the next thing you need to do." But it's because I'm literally just not getting brain chemical releases for task completion.

A big breakthrough moment for me with my experience with ADHD was realizing that I am mostly not going to get reward chemicals at all for finishing tasks. Finishing something doesn't make me feel good.

We need more labels to properly mark content, we need microlabels to be more specific. We don't need more restrictions, especially not on art.

People need to relearn critical thinking instead of blindly restricting everything mildly "vulgar" or unpleasant.

Genuine question, if you use Krita, were you aware that the greater blending mode even existed? Have you used it before?

It's basically like having the "wash" brush setting (the default on like every single brush because it's the most commonly useful setting) except it works on multiple strokes.

But even then, I'd still be relying on this for line work whenever I draw soft lines.

The only thing I can think of is that a lot of artists that I know use one layer for most of their colors, and I use (practically) a separate layer for every single color swatch that I use.

Maybe this is less useful if your entire layer is already 100% opacity pixels?

Also if I had unlimited time/money and better C++ skills I'd be making custom builds of Krita just to add new blending modes based off of this. Greater blending mode but it also tints color. Greater blending mode but with a cutoff.

It's boggling to me that afaik no one else seems to use this?

There are multiple brushes in Krita I use daily, every single drawing I make, with the greater blending mode that I would not use *at all* if that blending mode didn't exist. They'd be useless to me without it.

Because erasing with the "greater" blending mode produces smoother results than using the actual eraser.

It is a transformative feature for how I approach soft brushes in Krita, it is essential to all of my pencil brushes.

I never ever see this brought up as a feature.

I want to give you a sense of how good it is. I will occasionally *not* use an eraser in Blender, and will instead:

- Set a soft brush to the "greater" blender mode.

- Make a separate "erase" layer above the layer I'm trying to erase

- Paint on that layer and then merge them

I never see the "greater" blender mode in Krita talked about, and it is paws down the most useful brush blending mode in the entire program for doing soft shading and blending. It is my most-used blending mode in Krita.
