For 100 years, communities have come together to study, honor, and celebrate Black history. Called the “Father of Black History,” historian Carter G. Woodson helped launch this tradition by establishing a dedicated week in February to recognize the achievements and contributions of Black Americans.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor trailblazers in the Latinx community who paved the way for equity and opportunity: Alicia Dickerson Montemayor, who championed women’s leadership in LULAC; Nina Otero-Warren, who fought for suffrage and bilingual education;

Supporting workers’ rights is not just a matter of policy—it is a matter of principle. It is about dignity, fairness, and the unshakable belief that every person who puts in an honest day’s work deserves respect, safety, and the wages they deserve.✊🏽

Working women of color, low-income workers, and workers with English as a second or learned language often face some of the most inequitable and unsafe working conditions in the workplace. From pay inequity to wage theft, sexual harassment, and racial discrimination…

May Day is not just about remembrance—it’s about resilience. It is about honoring immigrant workers, farmworkers, refugees, and children who refused to accept that a human life could be measured in hours punched or profits earned.
