Supporting workers’ rights is not just a matter of policy—it is a matter of principle. It is about dignity, fairness, and the unshakable belief that every person who puts in an honest day’s work deserves respect, safety, and the wages they deserve.✊🏽

I stand in full solidarity with the working people of Oregon and workers across the country.

And now, on top of unsafe working conditions, federal threats to programs like Medicaid and SNAP deepen the uncertainty faced by working families. Stripping these supports away would push vulnerable families further into crisis, especially in rural and underserved communities.

…low-income workers of color are often forced to choose between putting food on the table for their families, paying for their medications, paying rent at the end of the month, or facing extreme and often unjust working conditions.

Working women of color, low-income workers, and workers with English as a second or learned language often face some of the most inequitable and unsafe working conditions in the workplace. From pay inequity to wage theft, sexual harassment, and racial discrimination…

May Day is not just about remembrance—it’s about resilience. It is about honoring immigrant workers, farmworkers, refugees, and children who refused to accept that a human life could be measured in hours punched or profits earned.
