Made another one for Kid, who loves spiders. Where & when we camp, we often see horny tarantulas on walk abouts, cruising; other campmates are frightened, so we're the ones rescuing them in our soup bowls & scooting them to safety. Seemed apropos to make a spider sticker.

How fn charming; this would make my week.

This morning's convo was how, due to racism, "Veganism" - meaning the most visible outward projecting face of - is White (both literally & culturally), but that if one intentionally looked, there were, of course, plenty of Otherwise, & overwhelming purity politics were less at play there.

I feel physically ill when I see corporate media (rightly) bemoaning the disinformation around science and autism, then doing the "science is unclear" shtick on trans healthcare.

Are you a fan of King, or is he too passé? I still find certain scenes from "The Shining" scary after rereads in the double digits. And am very warmly fond of "Bag of Bones".

It was genuinely fun to do more graphical stuff, but a campmate looked surprised and said "I was expecting watercolour". Oof, I have become a one trick pony.

I intentionally went for very different aethestics. I did the first two (happier seeming ones) and got the feedback that I got was "more 'divorced' energy" and in a pique of amused frustration leaned hard into it.

A campmate asked me to design some stickers. Just this morning I realised that if I had a button maker, I could make these into buttons. Which seems awfully obvious for an epiphany, but I am just a budget philosopher, so here we are.

I was dealing with my own over-sized misplaced feelings, so went out and stress-bought some sight word flashcards, and a bunch of fidgets/sensory tools for the kids.

I also picked up a toddler-sized geodesic climbing structure for Bird.

Just be aware before posting online that our joy offends them in the best of cases - and this is not one of those. It’ll plausibly be noted. No need to volunteer to be among the first against the gulag wall. No man, and especially this one, is worth that.

Sometimes I feel silly focusing so much on plants and decor, but the outside world is increasingly hostile to me, and finding or creating joy for myself is mandatory for survival.

I love the home we’ve created so much, but my room in particular is such a wonderful place of peace for me.

This song is almost old enough to run for president, and is still relevant.

I know it’s not many folk’s favourite, but “What Dreams May Come” was an enormously emotional illustration ofWilliams’ dramatic range.

Same with “Goodwill Hunting”.
