β€œI’m a better thief than I am a writer.” One of the Indian Lake books. Sadly consumed on audio, so I can’t immediately recall which.

Having seen my Vikings’ Metrodome collapse, not unlike their NFC Championship performance, it does feel prescient.

Pretty sure I once went to an amazing Aesop Rock show in the building in the bg. Sadly there was no Weinermobile at the time.

21 Black Women Leads in Horror (So Far This Year) Let's be honest. Black women have always been overlooked when it comes to lead roles in horror. We are often cast as the Best Friend (Baghead, 2024) or the sacrificial lamb (Annabelle, 2014). I have a...

A popular horror creator made a post about women doing the damn thing in horror this year. Yet not one Black woman (or any woman of color) was included on her list. So I compiled one.

Here are 20+ Black women doing the damn thing in horror this year #BlackSky

Cautionary tale, for sure. It shows what a slow slide it was, in Germany, and how MANY people domestic and abroad kept thinking it would blow over. But yes, done with characteristically brilliant Larson research.

If you're an indie filmmaker (producer, director, screenwriter, actor, etc.) and your film is on a free streaming service (Tubi, Plex, Roku etc.), shout it out. Throw out a link. Brag a little, even if it's a shitty thriller like mine. You got it made. People can see it. Rejoice! #ScriptSky #FilmSky

Fun story I can add… In film school, one of my teachers used to be married to Peckinpah’s daughter. They moved into his house, and in the bedroom, in the ceiling over the bed, were bullet holes. The story was that there had once been a fly buzzing around the room so Sam shot at it. πŸ‘€

Yeah, that’s tough. Sorry to hear it went that way. Someday I’ll have to tell about a meeting I once had with CBS. It might make you feel better. πŸ˜‚

Some of those execs you can definitely aim to avoid, but it sure sucks when they’re in a funnel you know you’ll have to hit again next time.

I mostly post about screenwriting, but I’m reading Erik Larson’s The Demon of Unrest, and his writing is such a masterclass.

Also, reading this and his In the Garden of Beasts tells you everything you need to know about worst-case scenarios for the next 4 years. 🫠

100% understand. I think it’s unique to each of us, how we engage and where we need to erect boundaries for our own well-being. There are a lot of good people out there who want good things to happen to other good people. Never hurts to remind each other. 🀝

2016-2020 I gave too much time & energy to outrage.

While deeply disappointed w/ the election, I’m working hard to channel my feelings into MORE writing this time, not less.

We all have a finite well of energy, and I hope you get to use yours in ways decided by you and no one else. ✌️

#ScriptSky #ScriptSwap

Looking to swap this draft of FAIRY DUST with women, queer, and/or NB writers. Especially those with an interest in dark fantasy.

Prefer:
1. Genre script with several revisions complete
2. 90-110 pages
3. No first time screenplays
4. 2 week turnaround

DM me if interested!
