He was such a brilliant iconoclast when he hit the UK folk scene as a teenager. Just fearless. He's much more in for the trad stuff now but his first five albums are all magnificent.

This is my all time top 10 most listened to on last FM. I've seen 5 of these live and have tickets to see a 6th.
Planxty are long gone, sadly. I think Aesop Rock is pretty unlikely. So I'm crossing fingers that we get a proper Radiohead tour and Underworld visit my neck of the woods
Some days I feel I'm getting pretty good at this cooking lark

For what itβs worth (nothing) I am an 11th-generation Anglo. My ancestor beat the Pilgrims here by 30 years.

I hate, hate, hate how we're forced to engage with this total, ridiculous, farcical nonsense because the people spouting it are pointing guns at everyone.

I'd told daughter that the less she knew about the film the better. Infuriatingly she used this information to intuit the twist.
You can't even tell people to avoid spoilers without giving spoilers anymore! π
Just watched The Sixth Sense for the first time in 25 years, with one of the kids. She guessed the ending.
But do you know what I noticed? The film has a surprising motif in common with Game of Thrones: they both feature Icy Dead People.

My husband @mjowen174.bsky.social is very down and itβs difficult to see.
He had a thriving writing business until AI came along but now heβs struggling to find work.
Please repost this far and wide in the hope that he can find some writing work.

It's fun to psychoanalyse PMs & often you can be successful in board terms.
Blair had a rock-star complex.
Johnson had way more ambition than his tiny talents.
But I don't get Starmer at all. He just plods on, myopically, seemingly oblivious as to how he's repulsed almost every class of voter.

I use Quorn mince. Cook it first by itself with a little oil else it won't brown. Set it aside.
Caramelise onions with some brown sugar. Late on, add some garlic and finely chopped sweet peppers. Later still the Quorn.
