I'd told daughter that the less she knew about the film the better. Infuriatingly she used this information to intuit the twist.

You can't even tell people to avoid spoilers without giving spoilers anymore! πŸ˜”

Just watched The Sixth Sense for the first time in 25 years, with one of the kids. She guessed the ending.

But do you know what I noticed? The film has a surprising motif in common with Game of Thrones: they both feature Icy Dead People.

It's fun to psychoanalyse PMs & often you can be successful in board terms.

Blair had a rock-star complex.
Johnson had way more ambition than his tiny talents.

But I don't get Starmer at all. He just plods on, myopically, seemingly oblivious as to how he's repulsed almost every class of voter.

There's a new Warhammer partworks series out soon. I think I have bought issue 1 of pretty much all of these and never painted a single model from them. But that's not going to stop me doing it again. hachette-collections.de/en-en/warham...

Look at this beauty! Francis Tresham's 1829, first and greatest of the 18XX railway games, first edition (third printing), from 1974. This is one of the 'proto-Euros', games that anticipate elements of the German game renaissance of the 1980s despite being released years, sometimes decades earlier.

That is lovely, especially for a game of that age!

I use Quorn mince. Cook it first by itself with a little oil else it won't brown. Set it aside.

Caramelise onions with some brown sugar. Late on, add some garlic and finely chopped sweet peppers. Later still the Quorn.

Sauce is mix of BBQ sauce, stock, ketchup, mustard in that order of quantity

I sometimes make vegetarian sloppy Joes and I'm ashamed to say that they're the only sandwich or sandwich-adjacent food that I eat with a knife and fork.

Sharing this not only for the fascinating literary introduction but also for "beef dry and granular as mortar in the temple of a forgotten god"

Because let me be very clear:

When men mock other men for standing against misogyny (or racism, or transphobia, or any other bigotry)

They are β€œpunishing” you FOR SUCCEEDING AT MEETING THE STANDARDS OF MASCULINITY YOU ALL CLAIM TO HOLD

Designer is also the illustrator, and yes it looks fantastic.

Demons accumulate sin, which you can pay to summon the bigger demons and yes, they must be placed atop ordinary demon cards not empty spaces.

Was really pleased with my initial listening notes for Tusk but it turns out the albums improves somewhat towards the middle, so now I'm going to have to throw them out :(

You win automatically if you end the game on 66. I'm not sure how realistic that is but it's a lovely little extra :)

Final score of 171 - an infuriating 4 points off "god like" rating and my best solo effort yet. Hard to see how I could have got a lot more points this game

I agree with this.

Austerity followed by a Brexit referendum was a real one-two punch from David Cameron to the general ability of Britain to thrive.

Create a bunch of disaffected, disappointed voters & then give them a means to express their unhappiness that is *disastrous* for *everyone*.

Entirely fair, and I entirely agree. Just didn't pick that up from your original post.

Not proud to admit this, but while I mostly avoid LLMs, working in IT they can be helpful in my job, and the way they schmoove and flatter you is downright disturbing yet weirdly addictive. Who doesn't want nice things said about them, even by a machine? It's absolutely deliberate, and horrifying.

Members of my family have long said they'd never vote Labour because of what was done post-WW2 to appease the Soviets, their trust in them was completely wrecked. People remember
