My 80 year old Aunt reads the Mail, and it's left her terrified she's going to be a victim of crime now that Britain has gone the dogs.
She lives in a quiet rural village with a population of 214, and, Because of the Mail, she phones my mum in a panic whenever a police car drives past.

07.03.2026 15:57 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Thank you. It's a relatively recent thing, inspired by a friend who had a full on midlife crisis, quit his job, got divorced and reinvented himself as an artist. He's deranged, but it inspired me to try being a bit more creative

06.03.2026 13:36 — 👍 12 🔁 1 💬 4 📌 0No it's a new AoS series out this week, called Spearhead. I know they're good value but only if you want all the models, which I don't. I just looked up the Lord Veritant figure, which I liked, and found some other Stormcast models I liked and got those :)

Hey board gamers - your feelings an opinions about games are being turned into slop.
There's a channel called Board Game Critique. All their videos are clearly made with AI. They fess up to this, but they claim that they write their own scripts.
I cannot definitively prove that they don't, but 1/x
Yeah I tried Kill Team and quite liked it but I found having different rules for pretty much every model on the table a bit much

Trout. Trout.
Get them all out!
These are the fish
We can do without
And I am also dubious about Trout Mask Replica, although I haven't had the mandatory 6 listens after which you're supposed to "get it". I'm glad something that completely outre & bizarre exists though.
Although this is always at the back of my head since I learned it bsky.app/profile/matt...
Weirdly I already know Beefheart. I just never took the step into Zappa. Although I guess for many people the journey is the other way around.

I probably ought to after this because despite the naysayers honestly Gumbo Variations is proving pretty fucking incredible too.
I do have to go listen to some Echo and the Bunneymen first tho as I'm seeing them live next weekend, but I'll bookmark your suggestions.
People go on about Shadowrun but for my money 40k is the best fantasy/sci-fi fusion we've had
06.03.2026 10:08 — 👍 13 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Pretty much everything about it is pitch perfect and I also noticed the ratchet. I've never heard Zappa before but this whole album so far is blowing my mind. Got the Gumbo Variations coming up next tho which I understand is a bit of a slog.

A great slice of folk-rock, with nice little flourishes of jazz, even if a couple of the tunes are a bit corny or wishy-washy. A Sailor's Life is absolutely fantastic. 4/5 1001albumsgenerator.com/albums/7isYi...
