In a higher budget production, the chases and noir setpieces provide strong opportunities to evoke NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN or even SIN CITY in a theatrical release. However, the strong characterization and dialogue provide enough on the page for strong actors to sink their teeth into solid roles and make a character-driven, lower budget adaptation shine (e.g. THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI). In the current marketplace, the diverse array of players in the piece stands out as attractive given its refreshing balance of ethnicity and gender in what is historically a predominately white and male centered genre. On the whole, strong writing and characters are likely to stand out to filmmakers and talent alike, making this a real candidate for attraction and attachment.

Hollywood loves multi-hypenates and people who can "do it all" unless you're a writer who can write both genres. That's illegal. Pick one genre. Never cross genres. How could they possibly know where to staff you if you can do both??
