I posted about this dress back in 2018, one of the first years I began to do my #ootd. Even from all that time ago, I have never forgotten this dress- a 1900-05 Doucet robe a transformation. It was therefore such a pleasure to see it in person at the #PaulPoiret exhibit. Once again, it was there

Part of this may be because people realized that using piercing guns is the worst possible way to piece anyone's ears but I digress

Saying "I appreciate you!" to the lab folks and asking about their day costs me nothing, but when I ask for a K+ rushed so we can get a procedure going, that little interaction is the difference between a yes and a no.

NO ONE LIVES IN A VACUUM. BE NICE.

Quick, genuine interactions that show people you see them and value their contributions don't cost you anything but they'll sure as shit make your life easier when you need to work with those people later.

I accidentally became a beloved character at my job BY JUST BEING PLEASANT AND FRIENDLY.

We are stuck being with all these people for 40+ hrs a week. Making small talk and being interested in other people for a minute or two will grease the wheels of progress much more than trying to brute force your way through life and acting like nothing matters but the job.

This is 100% the attitude of one of our senior nurses and she remains constantly mystified that those of us who are friendly and on good terms with other people and other departments can ask for favors but her brusque barking gets nowhere.
