I thought I'd be releasing a proof of concept build to test of my game by the end of this month, but I feel like I'll have to post pone it a bit cuz if the next weeks are as full of stuff stopping me from working on it as there was this week it's going to be tough to release anything at all really

I can't really show what I'm working on rn but I think I'll be opening a small playtest proof of concept on the game I'm currently making so I hope I can get some insight into how it feels to play when I do that

btw just a lil life update for those who wonder why I haven't posted that many changes about the game I'm creating since I started working on it. I got a job as a freelance gamedev for a lil other game so I have less time to work on my own project or come to bsky but I'll try to post more

witch way finally starting to come together as a fun prototype, it took me a while to land on how it is right now but now I feel confident that it will be a fun game and might start playtesting soon to see if it's not just me that thinks that

externalizing this actually made me think of an ideia that could work, maybe u could throw random itens you get thoughout the game into a cauldroon at the end of a cleared room to increase the rarity of your upgrade and even reroll the upgrades that apparead if you have a certain combination on you

there is also the lil factoid of the whole ideia of the genre being heavily randomized on your choice of weapons, making it so giving the ability to the player to craft their own weapons to be a bit of a opposion to the path of "each run is different" provided by the genre

I really would love to make it so the thing that stands my roguelike game apart from others was the resource management aspect of creating your potions and all but I'm really struggling to find a compeling and dynamic way to implement this into the avarage roguelike gameplay loop

now I want to make it so u can get potionsns that have "durability"(kinda like the bullet capacity of enter the gungeon) and use the resources to craft numerical upgrades to the potions, while also adding concoction caldroons where u can combine potions as a source of mechanical upgrades

I was planning on making potions on my game be crafted with resources dropped from enemies and gathered from the enviorement, but now hat it's half implemented I see that this style of resource management doesn't bold very welll with roguelike games so I think I'm going to change it

for me it is such a dificult slog to do pixel art animation, static frames are fine I'd say I even like drawing tem but animation is such a hassle

I wanted to make this enemy to look sleak and kinda vagabond looking (for a lack of a back word since the word I have on my head doesn' exist in english) but ended up making it so sleek that they just loo like a chill fella

and I think too I'm going to pick up witch way againbut instead of a fast paced multiplayer pvp gathering game I'm thinking of making it more like a singleplayer roguelike expanding it to the pvp feature as a side thing on the future if possible
