07.08.2025 13:53 β π 10 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0This is what frustrates me about the perennial "how do we reach the public" conversations. Are students--and by extension their parents/families/caregivers--not "the public?" Are classrooms, museums, parks, and historic sites not venues where we can reach the public at scale?
07.08.2025 12:16 β π 157 π 34 π¬ 3 π 3It's not just the cars. It's that people call child services if they see an unattended kid even in the front yard of the kid's own house.
06.08.2025 22:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Black text on white background reads: Seeking Survey Respondents! Survey of Attitudes and Behaviors around the Intersection of Spirituality and Values and Finance and Economics I am conducting a survey as part of my Master of Divinity senior seminar project at Harvard Divinity School. The purpose of the survey is to learn more about how peopleβs spiritual or ethical values relate to their perceptions and decisions around money, finance, and the economy. Any adult can take this survey; you do not need to consider yourself religious, spiritual, financially savvy, or any other qualifier. I expect that it will take 20-25 minutes to complete this survey online. Your data will be anonymized, meaning that I will not have access to any identifying information. Findings will be shared in aggregate, and comments will be quoted without attribution. 06.08.2025 17:26 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 2 π 1This is the game theoretic correct answer. Costs for bad behavior are insurance against future bad behavior. In the language of deterrence specifically, impoverishing and neutering the Republican power centers is deterrence by denial as well. Can't fund candidates if your ass is broke and in jail.

05.08.2025 22:04 β π 76 π 14 π¬ 3 π 3Yes, we need to stop them. But people are already being censored. It's too late to thing we can stop them before they start erasing us.

I'm discussing what happens when they are mandated by fascist authorities to treat LGBTQ content as harmful, just like states are doing with some library books now. The door is clearly open. The question is what we build to close it again.
05.08.2025 17:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On the other hand, what happens when gov demands all LGBTQ content be considered harmful? How do we avoid requiring content the government doesn't like be removed?
05.08.2025 17:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You can't argue with these gutter racists. They want late-19C-style Jim Crow. They hate people of color and do not want to see them *at all*. They will not respond to "facts" or moral appeals. Ostracize them. Mock them. Cut them off. Make them hurt from the consequences of their gross inhumanity.

Depends on the cba, but union due process protections in labor-friendly states are definitely stronger protection than tenure alone, & merit pay/pay step systems can be bargained into contracts.

In practice, they require protections for Zionism & repression of anti-Zionism. Many Jews will be harmed by this, as we saw last year.
