Columnar Basalt:
Also called “Columnar Jointing.”
Columnar jointing is a geologic structure where sets of intersecting closely spaced fractures, referred to as joints, result in the formation of polygonal prisms. Occurs mainly in basalt as the lava cools and contracts.

This is what we believe to be a chalcedony pseudomorph after calcite. This is from one of our newly discovered localities here in Washington State. We’ve named this prospect the “Juicy G Prospect”
Initially, we were just finding small nodules at this location, but they soon turned larger and hollow!
