An image showing two photos with a white line dividing them.
On the left John is an 18 year old white man with wavy chestnut hair, glasses, blue face paint, and a beard of red brown eyeshadow. He wears a t shirt under a red and yellow vest with a fox tail pinned to one end, and he pulls the fox tail to his shoulder height to stim with it. In one hand he holds a camera.
On the right John is a 32 year old man with a mustache, curly beard, shaved head. He sits with one hand gripping the other wrist and looks into the camera. There is a tattoo of a raven visible on one arm and tattoos of a medic's armband and an ear of wheat on the other.
I transitioned via the Reluctant Bear Bait to Bear Pipeline.

Also, I'll give the bass, bow, soft-side case, rosin, an exercise book, and two music theory books I inherited from my bass teacher. The whole kit served me well when I worked for an orchestra, played in a jazz band, and did my own compositions. Free to good home because music for all.

He's a German bass with a French bow and custom pickups. He does need new strings and a good polish, but the grain on the neck is beautiful and made it very easy to transfer my bass guitar skills to this instrument.

After nearly 20 years together, I'm letting go of my 1/4 scale upright bass. The size is relatively rare, and so I'm looking for someone who really needs it. If anyone in the Puget Sound area is interested or has a student who can't afford one, please DM me. #musicsky

Myself and another trans+ researcher are creating a zine* about cervical screening. It is with trans+ Autistic people in mind, as a tool for information and advocacy.
We've got a page on how it could be experienced for Autistic people and trans+ people but I'm having trouble thinking about the overlap.
What is specifically different for trans+ Autistic people in this circumstance? I ask this as a trans+ Autistic person who has had experienced of three of these screenings (I also just happen to have a head full of bees right now).
Any help is appreciated.
[A white background, large black text reads: Trans+ Autistic cervical screening. How is it different for us?
To the bottom left is the Autistic and Living the Dream logo. To the bottom right is a cute image of two people smiling and holding each other. They both wear head coverings and a cancer awareness ribbon]

BYU student's visa reinstated after unexpected revocation
A Japanese doctorate student at BYU will now be able to stay in the U.S. after his visa was revoked earlier this month.
Another story of
1. Admin sends fascist order
2. Media reports on it
3. People are outraged, say no
4. Admin says βactually that order was a mistakeβ
Lesson is defy fascist orders

This is so heartbreaking and makes nothing better and no one safer. It is the punitive act of an administration that values fealty over human health.

That is also not true, by the way?
Para 236 pretty explicitly lays out how bouncing trans men from a women's space wouldn't count as sex discrimination, owing to their "masculine attributes".
The opinion is hypocritical and happy to enforce a double standard for the sake of upholding cissexism.

A photo of John's hand holding a cone of gelato against the background of a cafe table and shop floor. The gelato has been formed into little petals rather than scoops so that it looks like a little rose formed onto the cone.
In honor of Trans Day of Visibility / Trans Day of Having a Nice Snack, I hope everyone gets some time with loved ones and maybe even a little treat. I got gelato.

I, a white person with a shaved head and a beard, sit in an armchair festooned with bright fabrics in a variety of textures. I'm also holding a pastel rainbow colored teddy bear in one arm.
In Durham market, there's a great bookstore called the Bookwyrm, which has this fabulous chair. When we asked if we could take photos in the chair, the shop owner asked if we'd like to hold Lesbian the teddy for the photos. So here's me with my new BFF Lesbian.

TLDR: you don't get "special treatment" for being trans in high school. You usually find out which teachers are cool and get weird treatment from folks inside and outside your friend circle.

I was also "patient zero" at my school, and the only things that happened were
1. I got called "it" in the bathroom a lot
2. school admins tightened dress code because I wore men's and women's dress
3. my Latin teacher let me pick a new name to use in class.
