I write both early in the morning but also right before bed… and I’m definitely more creative at night!

I feel like this snippet encompasses the vibe of the book. :)

From chapter 1 :

People started to leave, passing through the door, letting music out a few seconds at a time. As soon as the door closed, the sound disappeared, as if the room wasn’t packed with people dancing and drinking. Out here, I was there but I wasn’t.
Kind of like the rest of my life.

When Your Identity Shifts ... and how motherhood redefined me

We are who we are... until we change.

Over on Substack, I share my musings about how our identities shift over time, sometimes slowly, and sometimes it's like falling through a portal into a totally different world.

I'd love to hear what you think: open.substack.com/pub/wheredai...

One of my writing/critique partners just likened my New Adult contemporary to "One Day" by David Nicholls -- a book I ADORED -- which means she just made my entire week. <3 Thank you @writerceci.bsky.social!

In the winter, it’s the cozy cave of my basement. Once the weather allows for it, outside I go! I have a comfy outdoor chair with a small side table and my backyard view to keep inspiring me.

A Day in the Life of a Work-at-Home Mom - Oops and Daisies I’ve been a full-time work-at-home mom since I had my son in January 2017. Since then I’m often asked, “how do you do it all?!” I don’t really understand the question, honestly. I’m no different than ...

I wrote this YEARS ago, when Little Miss was in preschool, & I'm tired just reading it. But I share now because I think it's worth pointing out how much we, as moms, tire ourselves out trying to juggle EVERYTHING. We don't get enough credit for all that we do.

In my current #WorkInProgess, it's heavily focused on romance and friendships. But this is my first time writing "romance"! Most of my books/stories are about friendship. I love exploring how we choose who we let into our lives. #WritingCommunity #WritingLife

#Writers, curious minds want to know: what do you share about your work-in-progress? Do you share publicly what it’s about? Your inspiration? How you approach the writing process?
I’d love to talk more about my writing but I want to make sure it’s still of interest & valuable to readers. #WriteSky

I edited about 16 chapters of my NA manuscript, sent some poetry off to a writing partner, and started toying with some new ideas… this month will be a lot of the same!

What about you?

I’ve been drawing and making watercolor art! It’s a great way to clear my mind. I’m also getting into the idea of neurographic art!
