Trump is publicly mocking the Democrats and their voters. Are the Democrats expected to negotiate under those conditions? The Democrats shouldn't move an inch until Trump shows that he can act like an adult.

It is very frustrating that the key question everyone seems to be asking as the shutdown deadline approaches is, "Who will the public blame?"

The Democrats need to learn that every poll question is the same "What side are you on?"

They dont need this strategy of blaming Trump for the shutdown. They just need to convince people to remain on their side, even as the shutdown causes damage in people's lives.

At some point, ICE won't be able to operate any longer if their salaries are not being paid out. I dont know when that point would come, but it is measured in months. If we had leaders, they would have the courage to see that.

So my question is, how long can they realistically "stick around"? ... because it seems to me that the answer to that question is the same as the question "How long does the shutdown need to last?"

Who cares who "owns" the shutdown? Just keep it shut down.

Its not a question of what motivates them to work. They have bills and families.

Real question. Realistically, how long do people guess ICE can continue to operate if the salaries of the agents aren't being paid out? 2 months? 3 months? Longer?

They have families and bills, just like everyone else.
