If you find yourself writing ordinances to ban #Ebikes from parks, please take a look at your streets. Are they safe enough for people--all people, including kids--to ride bikes? I'd bet a lot of money they are not.
Fix your streets first, and everybody wins.

Imagine if the Hell No‼️ Committee on Friendship Heights had to complain about "small multi-unit residential buildings in areas with single-unit detached residential buildings" instead of "multi-family housing units in single-family neighborhoods."

Hot take: we should use neutral language to describe buildings people live in. Single-unit, multi-unit. Residential, commercial/residential. Attached, detached. Single ownership, common ownership, rental.

I never really expected to become a homeowner, love it that I am, but it’s only made me more adamant that housing should be available in ways that work for everyone and that includes rentals! It definitely includes apartments, which I lived in for ~15 years as an adult!

Police (MCP2351006V) did not find anyone at fault.

the driver (57/F) of a 2007 Acura RDX
hit & injured a pedestrian (69/F)
in the parking lot of Costco, 11160 Veirs Mill Rd (Wheaton Plaza mall).
Police (MCP9406003Q) did not find anyone at fault.

On Fri 2/6/26 12:00 pm
the driver (35/M) of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado
in the parking garage of Home Depot on Shady Grove Rd.
hit & injured a pedestrian (68/M).
Police (MCP137801G2) found the driver at fault.

When a driver who is turning left in broad daylight
(apparently) can't see an adult-sized pedestrian who is crossing in the marked crosswalk with the walk signal
AND WAVING THEIR ARMS AT THE DRIVER...

that suggests lack of hi-vis is not the problem,
and #BeSafeBeSeen won't solve it.

Akshully, driving slow is more dangerous because it impedes traffic.
