Anyone know how to find an invisible/hidden paper jam in a printer? I'm tempted to throw it away.
Why are printers like this? I am generally a fairly capable human being, but printers are my kryptonite.
I JUST WANT TO REPRINT THE 100 MAILING LABELS FOR POSTCARDS TO VOTERS THAT I LOST SOMEPLACE.
Two thoughts:
1. If war decisions are made prayerfully, how did we villify a foreign country with a religious despot?
2. Why not the biblical wisdom of Isaiah 2:4 of swords into ploughshares?
"Im gonna lay down my sword and shield down by the riverside. I ain't gonna study war no more."
Rowe shaped me into the person I am today. The lessons I learned at Rowe are at the foundation of my commitment to transformation, community, and action rooted in empathy, justice and joy. We have been rooted in the principles of non-violence, inclusion, and justice since we opened in 1924.

I heard part of the press conference at the pentagon this morning on the radio. Either Hegseth or the commander of it said that they were making decisions "prayerfully" and in line with Biblical tenets.
This. Is. Horrifying.
Goes without saying.
Clarifying question:
Have the police in Hartford shot two black men having mental health crises in the last 10 days?
The new story is a new incident, correct?
Last night, I purchased an electric snow shovel--pretty much guaranteeing that we will never have another accumulating snow storm in Connecticut.
At least it was a fraction of the price of a snowblower...

Somehow, we bought a house situated on a quiet street with minimal traffic that gets great attention from the plows. The roads in the rest of the city were terrible.
(This post brought to you by a trip to drop our kid off at Gateway only to find it closed, not last night's posted delayed opening).
Screenshot of a Facebook post from US dept of Ed. It shows a classroom full of white students pledging allegiance to a large US flag that doesn't appear to have 50 stars on it. The caption across the photo says Make Education Great Again.
This administration is disgraceful. Fairfield was completely justified in canceling McMahon's History Rocks assembly.
This is vile.
Two cars buried in the snow.
There's a guy in our neighborhood who has junk cars scattered all over a multi-block area. Public works just did this to two of them. A little New Haven style justice.

23.02.2026 02:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just watched a PBS documentary about the blizzard of 78, which arrived later than expected so everyone ignored it and went to work and then all hell broke loose. They are saying we could get two feet here. Iβm worried about my parents house on Long Island sound.

I started this book this week, and it is one of those "rearrange the foundations of the brain" books for me.

Trans people.
Adopted people.
Married people who changed their name.
Older people.
People in nursing homes.
People without transportation or tech skills.
Poor people.
Black folks born at home in the south during Jim Crow.
Immigrants who have become citizens.
I just went and got a copy of my birth certificate. I have a copy of my SS card ordered. My passport is about to expire, but I will renew it. While I can easily afford and obtain these documents, there are many people who cannot. Please don't minimize the barrier to voting the SAVE Act would create.

Itβs a corollary to the people who say black men should have complied but were outraged that the lion got killed after it mauled the little black boy. Or the people who hate Vick for his dog abuse but donβt care about players who beat their girlfriends.

USED and Sec. McMahon just released a video telling teachers to drop their union membership.
I thought they wanted to leave things up to the states and municipalities. Why are the feds worrying about local decisions?
But, more importantly, union busting is disgusting.
We live in the city that has built the most new housing in the state of Connecticut in recent years, and the current estimate is that our home has increased 10% in value in the 15 months we have owned it.
Tell me how new housing lowers property values?
