I liked Shakespeare's King John much more than I thought I would. I read that it was one of the least popular and least performed plays.
I wanted to find a performance on YouTube but all of them have such bad sound quality that it's impossible to understand.
I was also wondering if I had missed something.

King John:
France, I am burn'd up with inflaming wrath, A rage whose heat hath this condition that nothing can allay, nothing but blood, the blood, and dearest--valu'd blood of France.
Same with my version

I hadn't realized that King John was the same person as Prince John from Robin Hood.
A play written in the late 16th century about the early 13th century would be too "Woke" for JD

In my behavior to the majesty, the borrowed Majesty, of England here.
Elinor: A strange beginning-
"Borrowed Majesty"!
Thank you

After reading #RichardIII_2025 It's become my favorite Shakespeare play, which had been Henry V, but I was previously influenced by Kenneth Branagh's movie. After his St. Crispin's day speech I would have followed him into battle even though I'm not English and I don't hate the French.

Richmond: God and your arms be prais'd, victorious friends; the day is ours, the bloody dog is dead.
And then, as we have ta'en the sacrament, we will unite the white rose and the red.
I think that I'll start using "Alack" in everyday conversations.

The quote isn't far off. While reading ISOLT with the #ProustTogether reading group, I was unhoused and staying in a van. Proust and the group helped me through a difficult time.

And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover to entertain these fair well-spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain and hate the idle pleasures of these days.
